SERVICE BEFORE POLITICS

A commitment to
serving others.

Rodney has long been committed to public education and serving others. Over the years, he has volunteered countless hours with organizations including the Boy Scouts of America, PTA, the YMCA, First Free Will Baptist Church and Rotary International.

Before entering public service, Rodney built a successful career as a businessman, gaining firsthand experience in leadership, problem-solving and responsible decision-making.

WHY HE RAN

Practical experience.
Public purpose.

In 2010, Rodney chose to run for public office because he believed he could make a meaningful difference for his community.

He brought the same hard work and practical business principles that had guided his professional life into public service.

During his time in office, Rodney focused on issues that directly affected families and neighborhoods, including private property rights, education and responsible governance.

His work earned recognition from professional and civic organizations for his thoughtful approach and dedication to addressing real-world concerns.

EXPERIENCE THAT MATTERS More than
30 years
in business.

Rodney understands the importance of responsible budgeting, smart growth and supporting an environment where local businesses and families can thrive.

He has consistently worked to protect public education, support teachers and schools, and ensure decisions are made as close to the local level as possible.

GENERATIONS IN GRAND PRAIRIE

Family roots that
run deep.

Rodney married Heather Jerden in 1991, and together they raised three children who attended public schools in Grand Prairie ISD.

His family's history in the area goes back generations. His grandfather, Bob Harless, moved the family to the area in the early 1950s and worked as a house painter and small business owner in Grand Prairie for more than 40 years.

Rodney's parents, Bennie and Sandy Anderson, have owned a small property management company in Grand Prairie since 1986, and his father previously worked for many years at a local defense contractor.

A FAMILY OF SERVICE

Education has always
been personal.

Rodney's father-in-law served as a school principal for more than 35 years, and his sister-in-law is a teacher with more than 20 years of experience.

Those connections helped shape Rodney's longstanding commitment to public education, local schools and the people who serve students every day.

THIS IS HOME

This community is not
a campaign stop. It's Rodney's life.

Those deep roots are why Rodney cares so deeply about the future of Grand Prairie and the quality of life of the families who call it home.
